Larry Phillips Memorial Race

Larry Phillips Memorial Race

I want to start this race recap off by saying how proud I/we are of our driver Dylan Scott Reynolds this weekend and also to all of the people that are involved with or who ive discussed setups with over the last couple of weeks. I couldnt do it without the help of this crew of people consisting of my wife Alice first and foremost. Kenneth & Angie Reynolds , Dylan & Sierra Reynolds (Jackson & Maddox), Andy & Shanda Milliken , Jason Chapman , Jason Seward , Justin Johnson , Rick Edgerton , Brian & Belinda Williams, Scott Tricia Webb
We also want to send prayers for a speedy recovery to one of my long time friends "Big Daddy" Joe Duvall who had a work accident and is currently in the hospital being treated for severe burns. You were riding along with us this weekend [🤘]
Friday nights portion of the Larry Phillips Memorial didnt start out great for us. Started on the outside front row of the heat and was run over in turn 1-2 on the first lap and sent towards the outside wall and he was able to save it and not hit the wall but with no caution the pack got away from us. That would put us starting 16th in the A Feature where he would drive up to 10th place and be the Hard Charger of the night.
Saturday nights portion started out with us on the pole of heat 2 and on the green flag he took the lead with Cody King immediately on his tail and both of them running hard on the high side for a few laps until the yellow came out. On the restart Dylan was able to get a good start again with Cody hot on his tail and both still on the high side but with 2 laps to go Dylan gor in a little too high and it allowed Cody to get by for the win with Dylan finishing 2nd. Luckily for us the redraw worked in our favor and put us pole for the A Feature. On the green flag of the A Feature Dylan was able to get the jump on outside pole sitter Ty Evans but just like in the heat race he immediately had Cody hot on his tail. Everyone knew it was going to be a bottom dominate track so Dylan protected that bottom line as well as he could. As they came around for lap 3 he got a tad bit too high going into 1 and it allowed Cody to get underneath him and pass him coming out of 2 but luck would be on our side and the caution came out for spins in turn 4 which put us back in the lead. From that restart on for the rest of the race he hit his marks the best he could and Cody did everything he could (thank you for not doing him dirty) to try and rattle Dylans cage but Dylan stayed focused and was able to lead every lap and pull off our first win of the year at Tri-State Speedway
Once again I/we are supper proud of the job he did. We finally have the car going in the right direction setup wise and hopefully now we can just fine tune it and get it even faster now.
